(Play the download version if you are not  judging the jam, if you're able! The jam submission WebGL build contains a known graphical/scripting issue during at least one scene. Please refrain from toggling History, as well - it will break the game. My apologies! There is a downloadable Windows build just below, uploaded after jam closure, with these issues fixed, a minor proofreading pass, and other small tweaks.)

"SIEVE" is becky goop, vvv444, and mia cain's entry to the TOXIC YURI GAME JAM.

Becky has never written one of these before. Mia is a pretty talented artist. V... is beyond your comprehension.

Give it a little time to load. It explains itself as best it can.

Hey, that's a good game. Pretty good horny but also good writing in general, dango! I found a lot to reflect on.

wowowowowowow this was an incredible read, this'll be sloshing around in my head for a long while. Also in a technical sense it left me very curious about the process behind the 2d/3d mashup.

the most loyal and devoted artist, mia, rendered everything out to .gifs which she then drew the characters over. i scripted the ability to swap each of these layers independently, and bob was my uncle

Glad you liked the game! The 3d model of the world was constructed in blender. Animation was mostly done quite sloppily (due to time constraints) using blendshapes. The textured surfaces use images from old japanese asset discs, proc gen/noise, or were illustrated by hand. Each shot was rendered out, compressed in photoshop, and saved as a gif. A high res frame from each shot was used as a backdrop for illustrating the characters. I was hoping to intentionally make the styles and resolutions clash a bit. Thank you for the inquiry, hope this helped!

They definitely clash in a very satisfying way, especially the lighting in the illustrations rly helped sell the effect for me. Taking notes taking notes, thanks for the detailed response!

astonishing amount of world building and atmosphere packed in here. i loved it!
